Tom and Ava are one week into their marriage when they reach the beach resort. Then Ava's mother, Lexi Luna, turns up unannounced. She has booked the room beside theirs, with a connecting door, and she says the marriage will not last the week. Honeymoon With My Mother-in-Law on Candy Shorts plays that threat as a countdown.

Tom's first reaction to the woman who walks up is a double take. Then he realizes she is his mother-in-law. Ava asks what her mom is doing there. The answer is "Surprise, baby." The risk is that Ava is within earshot. The episode ends on a confession that the wait began at the wedding.
